Technical notes for pressure-sensitive selfadhesive films
Generally nonporous materials need such as polymer films special ink and drying processes, due to the drying does not result from absorption into the film (as with paper products) but through the ancorage or oxidation of the inks.
inks
- The films require inks that will dry at the surface (oxidation) and are compatible with PVC .
- Required are less quantities of inks than in case of Paper printing, due to synthetic material surfacs do not absorb the inks .
print
- Before the printing process the surface should be acclimated to avoid condensation at the surface.
- For optimal results, the surface pressure should be adjusted at a minimum.
- Initially water content should be reduced as much as possible until drying process. After this water can be added to the optimal adjustment .
- The moisturising solution should not contain Glycerine due to a glycerine content can result in a flaking of the inks and amulsification.
- Printed films should not be piled on top of each other.
- Printing onto cold and wet films should be avoided at all cost.
